The Fiction 500
 a short story project

We at Inversion love good fiction. We love it long, wild, weird or traditional. Lately we've been on a short fiction spree, soaking in the power of great stories briefly told—in the tradition of Chekhov, Hemingway, Carver, Anderson and Cheever.

With this in mind, Inversion is seeking short fiction for our latest project, The Fiction 500. Precisely, we're looking for fiction shorter than most: 500 words, no more, no less. Your story can deliver the punch of a poem or the stretch of a novel, just as long as it does it in 500 words.

This is not a contest. This is a quest. Accepted submissions will be posted to Inversion Online, with links to author Web sites and bios and much fanfare.

Please send your submission to tgilmore@inversionmagazine.com.
In the subject line of your e-mail, please write Fiction 500; it'll help us notice your work.
